About IQAC
Introduction:

The IQAC is meant for planning, guiding and monitoring quality assurance (QA) and quality enhancement (QE) activities of the college. The IQAC may channelize and systematize the efforts and measures of an institution towards academic excellence. Every educational institution must have a long term objective and not rest after initial euphoric of accreditation process. It is in this context, the NAAC has been pushing colleges to set up Internal Quality Assurance Cell. The institutions of higher education are multi impute and multi output processing units. The growing tendency of higher educational institutions to create quality and to enhance quality in every sphere. So the task of the IQAC cell of every college is to monitor this aspect.
Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC become a part of a part of the institutional system and work towards realization of the goals of quality enhancement sustenance. The prime task of IQAC is to develop a system for continuous, consistent catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the institutions. For this during the post accreditation period, institution needs to channelize its efforts and measures towards promoting the holistic academic excellence with the suggestions of different committees of the concerning institution. From educational standpoint, improvement and empowerment of students is an utmost necessity. Again quality refers to something distinctive, exclusive and educational terms are linked to notions of excellence, of high quality unattainable by most. IQAC cell is the prime organ to develop the understanding between the students of a particular institution.
Objectives:
The primary aim of IQAC is
- To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
- To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internationalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
IQAC Functions –As Per UGC Guidelines
- Development and application of quality improvement programme for the various academiuc and administrative
- Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive for quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the acquired knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.
- Arrangement for feedback responses from students parents, and others stake holders on quality related institutional process.
- Organization of inter and intra instructional workshop, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality improvement.
- Initiatives to accommodate the suggestions of various quality parameter of higher educational institutions.
IQAC Institutional Functioning:
- The institution has active Inter Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC) to frame the policy for the academic and administrative growth of the institution by playing a major role in designing and maintaining quality assurance within academic system.
- IQAC monitors the proper implementation and analysis of overall academic and adminiustrative performances of the college activities.
- The cell supports the teaching and learning goals articulated in the institution’s strategic plan.
- IQAC ensures maximum utilization of infrastructural facilities,
- IQAC ensures the proper implementation of academic calendar.
- Regular meeting of IQAC is conduct to discuss various measures related to quality enhancement.
- Improvement in students supports system.
- Organizing seminars, conferences and workshops at different levels.
- Extension and upgradation of Classrooms and Laboratories.
- Inculcate ICT based Teaching –Learning processed.

Follow-up-
The institutions need to submit yearly the Annual Quality Assurance Report (IQAR) to NAAC. A functional Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and timely submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports(AQARs) are the Minimum Institutional Requirements(MIR) to volunteer for first ,second ,third or subsequent cycle’s accreditation .During the institutional visit the NAAC peer teams will interact with the IQACs to know the progress ,functioning as well quality sustenance initiatives undertaken by them .The Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) may be the part of the Annual Report .The AQAR shall be approved by the statutory bodies of the institution (such as Governing Body ) for the follow-up actions in future .
